Drunk on words and laughter
Two sopranos grapple with a monstrous machine, a gigantic inflatable whale-piano-bicycle. A funny and surprising show to discover the music of today, that of composer Georges Aperghis.
Suzy Superglotte, a diva of vocal burlesque, is preparing her act when Tatiana Nedelec, a piano mover, arrives with three boxes and a delirious instruction manual. As they struggle to assemble the monstrous contraption, the duo takes us on a whimsical journey where words become music, objects come to life, and nothing ever goes as planned. A playful and humorous musical odyssey exploring the work of Georges Aperghis, a major composer of our time.
The Ode et Lyre company promotes the reach of vocal art within the performing arts, anchoring it in our era by exploring new musical textures and blending lyrical singing with other artistic disciplines. They integrate technological innovations into live performance and foster collaborations between playwrights and contemporary composers to experiment, exchange ideas, and bring together their artistic languages within a shared project.
Production ODE ET LYRE – co-production La Clef des chants, structure of lyrical decentralisation in Hauts-de-France and the Cie Premier Balcon – with the support of SPEDIDAM and the Centre National de la Musique (CNM).
