Recognized as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2011, fado is a richly blended Portuguese song tradition, born from the dialogue between Afro-Brazilian rhythms, popular traditions, the voices of the countryside, and the cosmopolitan spirit of 19th-century cities. The selected songs tell of love and longing, absence and sorrow, with striking poetic intensity and the truthfulness of popular song. Through distinctive arrangements, Pierrick Hardy’s shimmering guitar playing and Chloé Breillot’s poignant voice breathe new life into this deeply moving repertoire.

Chloé Breillot is a singer, songwriter, and choir director with an eclectic artistic background. Trained in classical music, she later deepened her practice through choral singing and vocal techniques from around the world, notably with the Mikrokosmos choir and the Glotte-trotters school. She has taken part in numerous vocal projects in France and internationally, exploring polyphony and world music, including the Argentinian trio Las Famatinas. Today, she is developing a fado duo project, directing choirs, singing in the folk trio Les Travelbaghs, and is also a member of the Chant Funérailles collective.
